We all know that North Carolina has it’s own splendor. And once you’ve met Heather Ellison you’ll see that she’s an exquisite cut from that natural Carolina beauty. Like those magnificent pines bloom on the mountainsides, this energetic smoky blond is budding as a promising young artist.
Heather was born in Shelby, NC and still calls it home, except for when she’s in Raleigh at NCSU where she’s a senior majoring in Biological Sciences. Being a member of the Delta Zelta sorority also keeps her active in community projects.
Heather is a warm and energetic people person and comes from a very close-knit family circle. With the blend of her Father, Mother and older sister the home atmosphere is like a “house of heroes” as they vigorously affirm and support each other in life. That devotion only strengthens her armor as she goes out into the world to pursuit her melodious dreams.
She began exploring a love of music and her inter spirit by the tender age of three as she sang at the community church on Sundays. From her contented childhood memories she can draw a verbal picture of how her Father first introduced her to country music, as they often sang along playfully with the radio in the family car. But it was her Mother who first noticed that Heather had more talent than just being a fun loving back seat karaoke kid. She endorsed her musical ability by proudly encouraging her to sing in public. Heather’s memories also include singing with her grandmother on lazy Sunday afternoons. Her grandmother has an intriguing history that includes singing on the Grand Ole Opry.
Performing at many pageants, festivals and singing the national Anthem at local sporting events was part of her adolescence musical trail. As far back as the age of four the popular program “Showstoppers National” added her age category to the contest and Heather took home the prize. And again she won the “Showstoppers” competition at the age of eight, plus secured a spot on the Little Miss North Carolina talent competition at nine. On a more recent note the Entertainment Indy Association of Nashville, TN nominated Heather for Female Vocalist and she was featured on the PAX TV special.
Heather has played the Viola for the past 7 years and is now learning guitar. Music seems to flow easy for her because it’s like the wind that supports the passion she feels about life. She inhales the airwaves of stylistic artists like Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Phil Vassar and Dolly Parton. But her own distinctive country style is what she breathes into a song.
A positive step forward brought her into the Dixiana Studio in Nashville, TN. Skilled pros like producer Phil Lister and engineer Mark Lister of Dixiana Music have now unbridled her breezy sound on four original tracks. History reveals how Phil and Mark rode the Billboard charts for years and gathered recognition as a principal part of the group “Dixiana”. They’ve transported that experience and expertise into the mix and captured Heather in full vocal color. The session will be pitched for a prospective label deal.
She sings for you, she sings for herself, she sings for the love of a song. She likes to travel and she’ll take you on a passionate journey through her heart. Though she wears a delightful smile of the girl next door, she’s sassy and classy and carries her musical torch with ambition and flair. It’s time to make room for a new young talent named Heather Ellison who can steal your heart without missing a beat.
